March Madness

Every year after the Holidays I find my way back to school in the new year. The first two months of the new year are always gloomy, I’m still on “break mode” and not wanting to to start a new semester. The one thing I always have to look forward throughout the dismal months of January and February is the glimpse of spring in the distance. Those warm days that are only warm to tease us and the holiday ground hogs day where everyone hopes the ground hog doesn’t see its shadow even though we know it won’t make a difference. The idea of spring and warm weather is all I wait for once the new year begins. Spring to me always starts at the same time every year as soon as I hear the song “One Shining Moment” that concludes the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. What sports nation knows as “March Madness” in my opinion is the greatest sporting event on the face of the earth. With college football having such a poor postseason setup it makes college basketball all that much more important. As I see it March Madness is magical and it all starts on Selection Sunday, the week before the Tournament begins, where all the teams in the nation find out if they are in or out of the tournament. Six games is what a team needs to win the 64 team Championship and cut down the nets. Winning a NCAA Men’s Tournament is something even some of the greatest players of all time have not accomplished.

This new Set Your Goals song is only one of the singles that so many great bands have put out recently. I’ve been listening to this song for a few days now and I’ve decided I love it and cannot wait to see it live in a few days (Feb 20). Other bands that have put new stuff out includes:

Strokes, Transit, Title FIght, Radiohead (Saturday)

Coming soon: Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, and Death Cab For Cutie.

I know I am missing so much but its late and I cant think so I apologize so help me out and lmk what else I should be listening to.

I would have loved so much to go this festival. So many great bands that i would have loved to see are here and best of all it would have been a great road trip with my friends to see one of my best friends ever who will be based in Spokane. It would have been such a perfect trip especially what happened to us last August when we bought lollapolooza tickets and weren’t able to go last minute. This trip would have completely made up for that, but of course I didn’t even know the tickets were on sale yet and it is already sold out. Just my luck.

My friend Alex Iarocci’s Valentines Day blog. Check it out it won’t take long I promise and lets be honest what else do you have to do.
